Erasmus Project
Light through culture - Ankara 2012 is a cross-cultural Erasmus project initiated by the TU/Eindhoven, and St Lukas Brussels, and in cooperation with the Middle East Technical University of Ankara.
Subjective of project
By means of interactive light installations, we want to celebrate the rich cultural diversity in Europe by confronting the cultural heritage of Turkey with the Dutch/Belgian society. The interactive installations allow the visitor from different backgrounds to experience the concepts and meanings of culture in our daily life, deepening their understanding through bodily expressions and interaction with light.
Hand-in-Hand concept
Enter our installation and experience the process of becoming a group. By collaborating you become co-creators of this art installation. Experience a feeling of closeness and allow the secret of the pattern to create a group-feeling. What creates a group? The ‘hand-in-hand’ touch of visitors inside the installation are translated into lively patterns on the ceiling.
The pattern reveals the group dynamics and is unique and complete. Inspiration was found in the tight family bonding and hospitality in Turkish culture.
